Guest Artist - Introduction to Precious Metal Clay  

This beginner’s class is for anyone who would like to spend an exciting week experimenting and learning the basics of Precious Metal clay, a relatively new material and methodology for jewelry making. We will cover a variety of texturing, construction, firing and finishing techniques including patinas working with bronze and silver metal clay.

Go home with finished pieces of beautiful jewelry and an array of newly learned skills, that will give you the confidence to work with this material in your own home or studio. You will gain an understanding of the medium and its capabilities, of basic tools, correct safety procedures required, the advantages and disadvantages of Precious Metal Clay compared with working with traditional silver smithing techniques. This is a great hands-on workshop that provides an exciting environment for the production of beautiful and unique pieces of jewelry.
