This course will focus on recognition and understanding of the health effects of common hazardous chemical, physical and biological agents in the workplace using a systems and exposure approach. The medical/health surveillance related exposures will be addressed through health assessments, diagnoses and nursing interventions for the individual as well as the workplace. Students will also develop an understanding of principles of occupational hygiene which includes exposure monitoring and sampling techniques. Prerequisite: Occupational Health Nursing Introduction and Current Certificate of Registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario as an RN or RPN OR registered in the jurisdiction where you live.
