This course continues the development of physical literacy delivery skills by presenting physical literacy within a sport framework. Using the Sport for Life model of Long-Term Athlete Development adopted by all nationally funded Sport Governing Bodies in Canada, students are introduced to activities in this practicum that use sport in a variety of environments; outdoor/field, pool/water, indoor gymnasium and ice/snow that develop physical literacy in a progressive manner. Students will gain a better understanding of physical literacy using sport as a vehicle for development and will be able to develop physical literacy in young athletes at the Active Start, Fundamentals and Learn-to-Train Stages of Athlete development in each of the environments.
