Philosophies of Curriculum [EARL 40]   

In this course, students discuss foundational ideas in Early Childhood Education with an emphasis of trends and changes in curriculum and pedagogical approaches. Students examine the roles of play and developmentally appropriate practice, identifying their relationships to a variety of curriculum models including High Scope, Montessori, Waldorf, Reggio Emilia. Students are also introduced to Ontario’s Ministry of Education curriculum documents exploring the connection to other curriculum models.
