A distribution system consists of all elements involved in the placement, storage, and transportation of goods so that they are available for consumers. Learners will focus on building relationship management skills to develop metrics for raw materials, dealers /distributors, and end-users. Learners will identify efficient processes such as good design, optimal flow, and safety measures in the transportation of goods as well as balancing service and cost. In the final assessment, learners will have opportunities to apply the skills they have learned throughout the course.
Transportation is an important factor to consider at multiple points in the logistics process, and it often represents the highest cost in a business’s overall logistics spending. Learners will explore the ways/benefits of transporting freight for the organization as well as the consumer, and look at route optimization, load distribution, shipment tracking, and generating shipment reports. Learners will discover the secrets of effective fleet control and in the final assessment, apply the skills they have learned throughout the course.
