    This course will cover the basics of carpentry and construction for people with little to no experience. Participants will learn how to safely use power tools such as circular saws, mitre saw, table saws and cordless drills. Through practical examples, measuring skills will be reinforced as well as the carpenter’s mantra, plumb, level, straight, square. Participants will learn about home construction, renovation, and craft carpentry. Practical examples include: cutting baseboard, framing walls, hanging drywall and plastering, hanging pictures, as well as a project of the participant’s choosing. This course is intended for women who want to learn skills to take on small carpentry projects on their own or be more informed when it comes to hiring contractors.
