This course is designed for students who possess an elementary knowledge of French, such as introducing yourself, expressing actions in the present tense and describing people and objects. The focus of the course is on interpersonal communication, while reinforcing and building on the four fundamental skills: oral expression, oral comprehension, as well as reading and writing. Students learn, through a variety of engaging and interactive activities, principles to begin to refine their communication skills. Emphasis is on using sentences to describe everyday life and professional life, such as going shopping, healthcare, the daily routine and work schedule. Pre-requisite: LANG101K. Textbook required.
FRENCH ASSESSMENT: New students must have their conversational French assessed by the instructor through a quick interview process.
Assessment dates are Thursday, August 25 and Thursday, September 1. No appointment necessary, just drop in from 5-7 pm, in the Welcome Centre (main entrance across from the reception desk).
